A hot day wearing flipflops, donning my favourite sunglasses and entering a huge food hall to decide which Asian food I was going to grab for lunch, I felt like I was back home. I felt like I was in Singapore.
Bang Bang Oriental Food House is in Collindale, a few minutes walk from Collindale Station. It felt slightly out of the city, however, was only 40 minutes from home. Do-able.
On the ground floor is a Chinese restaurant, the Golden Dragon with a luxurious exterior. As you head up the stairs there is a patisserie before entering a huge food hall with more than 30 food hawker stalls with pretty much everything you want from South East Asia.
The development is owned by The Royal China Group which reassures me, it knows what food is typically offered in a typical food hall and how the seating should be laid out. So, of course, my tummy needs dumplings so we decided to try One 68 Dim Sum.
The ordering process is simple, you order (plates typically around £5) and you are given a round buzzer which dances around the table once the food is ready.
Of course to complete the experience, a Mooncake filled with custard. Yum! Mooncakes are traditionally eaten for good luck in during the Mid-Autumn festival.
And I couldn’t leave without bubble tea which is Taiwanese, most contain a tea base with chewy tapioca balls, this time I went for a passion fruit base with strawberry pearls from Chatime. To die for!
So hey you, yes you…I want to thank you for reading my post. Whether you’ve stuck around since the beginning of my journey or whether you’re new to my blog, thank you for reading and supporting. I genuinely appreciate it.
