6 Simple Ways To Prepare For The Week Ahead

Is Monday nearly here already?!

How did that happen? I swear I have just blinked and it was Friday a second ago. Two days in the week never go that quickly!

Before we know it a new week is beginning and it’s so easy to become embroiled in the craziness of taking kids to school, cooking dinner, attending meetings and sneaking in that time at the gym that it’s already fast approaching Monday…all over again.

If we can try to prepare for the week ahead it helps to make things run more smoothly. There are fewer things to think about and there’s something for me about being uber organised which makes me feel fulfilled.

Here are some simple ways to help that week run as sleek as!

Checking the diary to see what events you are attending or reviewing what the to-do list looks like gives you a reminder of how the week is likely to pan out. There are no surprises and you won’t have forgotten anything. It also gives you a chance to reassess in advance whether anything needs to be moved around.

Knowing what evenings you are home for dinner can help you stock up on any supplies or essentials in advance. This can help reduce the need to nip to the supermarket for emergencies mid-week as the basics are in and so are the little treats you may have picked up on Sunday!

I hate doing the laundry but keeping it up to date can help make sure there are enough shirts ironed and it’s a case of opening the wardrobe and selecting the outfit of the day. You can even be super organised by planning your daily outfits!

There is nothing worse than first thing in the morning you are rushing and trying to grab clothes to throw in your gym bag then realising when you arrive in the gym that you have forgotten something. Planning the outfits and the essentials in advance can help minimise an additional and unnecessary stress.

Whether it be 20 minutes or an hour to arrive at your destination having something to watch or listen to can help improve that journey and simultaneously boost that mood. Not everyone is a morning person! A small part of Sunday evening can be spent downloading a podcast, a book you’ve been meaning to read or catching up on iPlayer. Every little helps!

And finally the most important…get some rest! Everyone needs to recharge their batteries. As much as we would like to think we are superhuman, I mean we are amazing individuals after all but we can’t do everything. Downtime is needed and it’s important we allow ourselves time to catch up with loved ones, binge on Netflix or just sleep, whatever it is it’s allowed!

Great tips my love!! Especially love the supplies one! I find having a stocked fridge really helps me out during the week. Resists the midweek takeaway monster 🙂 xxx
