Weekends are all about the self-care three R’s: Rest, Relaxation, Rejuvenation.
Those two days are special and free days to do the things we enjoy. And what better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than catching up with one of your friends over brunch and champagne.
Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings was our choice this weekend. It oozes elegance with a charming, bright decor of vintage sprinkled with flowers and greenery. A perfect setting for a relaxed get-together.
There will always be ladies who lunch. Always. And apparently they live a long time.
You are warmly greeted by a grand piano, lavish artwork and a combination of mismatched garden furniture and cane, giving a boho yet swank style.
For me, the location is just as important as the outfit. And with a bottomless champagne option, what’s not to love?!
Brunch is one of my favourite ways to spend the day as the food options are limitless. You have access to both breakfast and lunch menus…all day. Best of both worlds in my opinion. And the menus here at Bourne & Hollingsworth will not disappoint.
I highly recommend the braised beef, crispy potato hash from the brunch menu. It’s a generous portion served with a luscious hollandaise and a choice of a poached hen’s egg or fried duck egg (I chose the latter and the oozing yolk was to perfection). It’s a little rich dish but most definitely a winner washed down with a few sips of Philippe Dublanc Brut.
You may not have room for dessert once you have finished!
My friend opted for the Huevos Benedictos which looked absolutely divine. It is served with chorizo and avocado, both absolute favourites of mine and again a lavish offering. It was a toss-up between both dishes but she must have liked it as the plate was clean upon collection!
The dishes are comforting and gratifying, reasonably priced and the service is impeccable. They ensure fresh champagne is with you once your glasses are getting low, without having to ask. There is a friendly and chatty vibe amongst the staff and the diners which quite frankly, makes you feel nothing other than content.
Not only is it an enchanting environment, but the interior is extremely Instagrammable #DOITFORTHEGRAM.
Bourne & Hollingsworth is a short walk from both Farringdon and Angel tube stations and can be found here.
