What better way to kickstart a Friday than an early meeting over breakfast.

The Drift, part of the popular Drake & Morgan empire is tucked away in Heron Tower just off busy Bishopsgate. The vibe is immediately welcoming and my first impression was that it was so instagrammable, it is well lit due to its wall of windows but there is also an air of indulgence. The interior appears to have been well thought out. I loved the pockets of areas where date nights, business meetings and private parties can do their thing.

Much of the appeal for me was the setting and design. On being led to the upper floor, half way up the staircase was this more private section, a perfect future blogging spot.

The upper floor is spacious with plenty of seating options catering for all, an open kitchen and a long bar perfect for those busy nights.

The menu is pleasing, displaying various options including daily specials in addition to the bakery, eggs and traditional favourites with maximum prices hovering around the £8 mark for a main dish. The food was delish, plentiful and just enough to prevent you from disappearing into a food coma.

As someone who is always seeking events, their calendar hosts a wide range of options including Bottomless Brunch (free flowing cocktails on Saturday and Sunday for an extra £15 with any main meal), a Breakfast Club, the 6 Nations and cocktail masterclasses. Sign up to their newsletter so you don’t miss out.

Working in the city means there are so many bars and restaurants to choose from, this is more my style with its relaxed and contemporary ambience.

Breakfast rating: 10/10

Perfect for: Brunch, business meetings and al fresco dining

Price: Good value for money

This is now definitely on my list for a return visit. Head down and tell me what you think!
