Bring it on Fitbit!

That little addictive silver band that I wear, you know the one that tells you when you have reached 15k steps, that nudges you when you’ve been sat down for too long and then tells you when you should be going to bed so you don’t turn into a pumpkin? Yeah that!  Time to make it work its ass off with me, harder than ever before.

I moved from Singapore to London 10 months ago, I am literally shaking my head in disbelief, I cannot believe it’s been that long. I am still missing Singapore terribly and am still struggling to settle here. I have told myself for months that moving countries, jobs, industries and home all at the same time is a gigantic change and to give it time but really how long do you give it? When I was living there my fitness levels were at an all time high, I went spinning every day and achieved a minimum of 15k steps, you know that was just kind of BAU. I was a well oiled machine! Then I returned to the UK, the fitness levels dropped and those gorgeous fresh salads in Singapore were replaced by comfort food. Time to stop!

The best project you’ll ever work on is you

So it’s ok to sit there and think right…ENOUGH! It’s another to actually motivate myself. The problem with me (well maybe it’s actually a good thing), is that when I set out to do something I do it with full force, there is no deviation and I am on a mission so I know I can do this, I have been on a few fitness journeys before and smashed them.

So I have a bit of a plan. It begins with the contents of my fridge. I have made the decision to return to the foods I ate whist living in Singapore. I was super healthy and I ate the right foods which provided me with an abundance of energy to meet my fitness demands. To support this and to keep me on track I have suggested and documented meals for the week so I don’t lose focus. God I love a good list!

You can’t just eat healthily and not exercise, plus I think it will help improve my mood and restore some inner peace if I get my ass back on a spin bike. I have already booked classes at Virgin Active, this time not at Raffles Place, Singapore but at Canary Wharf, London.

So let’s do this!
