When we are kids we don’t have a care in the world.
Life is amazing, we have nothing to worry about, we are always happy and love seeing our friends. I have no idea what was going through my mind at this time, I was clearly enjoying the sunshine (that clearly stayed with me throughout life!) but if I had known I was going to be blessed with having some awesome friends in my life in the future I reckon I would have been feeling pretty damn awesome.
Friends are angels that lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly
Friends are an important part of everyone’s life. Would life be boring without them? Of course, we have our family and partners to talk to but sometimes when things go wrong in either of those areas of our lives, it’s friends who are constant.
But do we take them for granted? I am sure we do and it isn’t intentional, we immediately pick the phone up when something goes wrong or we have something to celebrate. I decided to write this post as a reminder to me to be grateful for them to lift my spirits for whenever I may feel alone or a little sad and let’s face it, it happens to the best of us sometimes.
We speak to our friends so we don’t upset our loved ones by worrying them, there is a no holds barred policy when it comes to friends because they don’t judge you or hold things against you. Not to say we don’t speak to our loved ones but sometimes you are a little more cautious about what you say. But when it comes to friends, these are the guys who pick you up no matter what. For me they are people who love being on my blogging journey, give me career advice, who are a constant when relationships go wrong, who at the drop of a hat come armed with hugs and wine and who provide endless support and encouragement on my dreams and who just love to celebrate with me, for any occasion.
Reasons we would be lost without our friends:
We all have times when we need to make decisions. Usually, we know what we think is the right thing to do is or what we would like to do but friends are the best impartial people to help talk us through the options.
Everyone has their own experiences and they come through the other side with learnings. They are patient and can provide heaps of wisdom. Talking to friends can help guide you through a problem considering many other factors, sometimes from their own backgrounds, whilst reminding you of your strength both physically and mentally.
They love you for you. They have seen you at your worst and your best yet and they know the right way to help you. They remind you of how awesome you are, your past achievements and enjoy boosting your confidence. I love how my friends don’t forget if I am having an interview and they message with an injection of positivity so I walk into the room feeling I can achieve anything (love you guys).
There is no hidden agenda, their main goal is for you to be happy. If they feel that doing something would result in you being unhappy they will help steer you to something better.
Help Us Grow
They help make us a better person, reminding us we can achieve any of our goals and suggest ways to make sure it happens. Positivity and love come from them in abundance with advice and support. Friends will spend an afternoon with you preparing for an event or presentation to help you be the best you can be.
Don’t Let You Down
No matter what these guys are always there. It doesn’t matter what time of day or night. They will talk to you for hours, drop everything to see you and will check up on you to make sure you’re still doing ok.
How important are friends in your life? How do they make it better?
So hey you, yes you…I want to thank you for reading my post. Whether you’ve stuck around since the beginning of my journey or whether you’re new to my blog, thank you for reading and supporting. I genuinely appreciate it.
