Things I Believe In This Week: Positive Affirmations, Puppies And Sticky Toffee Pudding

It’s been a while.

My last Things I Believe In This Week post was in February! I’ve given myself a bit of a slap on the hand and got cracking in sharing the things which have made my week sparkle.

Sometimes it can be difficult to think of the great things, especially at the end of a long week but for me, it’s looking back at my photos. Try it, I bet there are some good reminders which make you smile.

POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS

When we think positive things we are happier. We are more attractive and people want to be around us. When the negative thoughts appear, so does the self-destruction and it’s just not worth it. We only have one life remember! Having positive affirmations or kick ass quotes as I like to call them can reprogramme the mind, almost like having our own reset button. We have the power to change our mindset, create a better day and as the law of attraction shows, what we think about we bring about. This is just a simple tool to help us achieve that.

I recently visited my Nanna and she shared an affirmation my late Grandad had written, it goes to show the strength of words and how they give you energy and determination. And he was one hell of a fighter to the end.

I repeat different affirmations every day, my current favourite is, “You got this, girl.”

PUPPIES

I am a complete sucker when it comes to puppies, well dogs in general really. I go to mush and as much as I am desperate to go to Battersea Dogs Home, I know I would leave with as many as I could fit in the car so it’s not advisable right now.

Instead, I had my fix on a visit back to the family home last weekend. My mum has a gentle and loving Schnauzer called Oscar and my sister has recently acquired a puppy called Penny, a Border Terrier Cross Jack Russell. She’s mega cute but a little bit of a psycho (sorry sis!) because she makes the same noise as Regan. You know the girl in The Exorcist?! But she is so energetic, provocative (teasing poor Oscar!), animated and of course, gorgeous.

There’s something about puppies which fill me with joy and that gooey feeling! I love how no matter what is happening in life, good or bad, they are always loyal and by your side.

STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING

Ok so I have been on a Weight Watchers plan now for just over three months, I have been so strong-willed and have hit my first main goal so it was time for a treat. Have you ever experienced words jumping off a page and almost dancing to you saying, “Pick me, pick me!” Well, it happened last week.

I had an eye closing, drooling, foodgasmic few minutes whilst I devoured a bowl of pure sticky, comforting, euphoric richness. I just didn’t want it to end but it was well worth the wait and you know what, at the following week’s weigh in, I still lost weight! I’m looking forward to reaching the final goal, a few more weeks to go #icandothis.

I am sure there are many more things which have made my week razzle-dazzle but these are definitely my three highlights.

What things have made your week sparkle?
