Well hello, Monday.
Another brand new start to the week, day one of a seven-day window of opportunities.
Somehow every Sunday evening I have a battle with insomnia which can result in bleary eyes and a mini-struggle to find my positive pants which have inspired me to change things up a little. How can Monday be more fun? How can I manage to fulfil the #monslay movement?
In February I wrote a post listing three ways to make Monday the new Friday, a great reminder and starting point for me to banish those tired Monday blues. I’m also ahead of the game now, insomnia do your worst! You may beat me sometimes but how I hit the ground running this morning is what’s important.
Here’s how I’m changing things up today:
I am a nightmare for setting five alarms and to add to the annoyance (even for me) I snooze each one! So for about 30 minutes, there is the same music playing pretty much on loop. My wake-up music of choice is Moon River composed by Henry Mancini. Today I let the music play for a little while longer and didn’t hit the snooze button once. All helped by the fact I recently haven’t been closing my bedroom curtains as I love waking up to sunshine. However, I don’t recommend this if you are overlooked by your neighbours!
I’ve secured myself a spot for the next two weeks of spinning. Knowing my exercise routine is scheduled in the diary helps me feel organised and excited for my rest days. They are much more fun knowing I have worked so hard to enjoy that cheeky glass of wine and not feel guilty in enjoying some delicious cuisine.
Who says Monday has to be boring? I hear so many people asking, “Who goes out on a Monday?!” erm that would be me! Because why not, it’s a great way to start off the week. We are booked in for dinner with a view and some relaxed vibes. Having something to look forward to at the start of the week helps add a little spring to my step.
Ok so that’s my day covered and there is nothing better than coming home to a freshly made bed to complete the awesomeness. Granted it takes a bit of organisation as I changed the bedding before I left for work and whilst I was rushing round slightly, it was a productive morning and well worth it as I cannot wait to plunge into the luxurious fabric this evening!
How have you changed up your Monday?
