Looking for a reason to go on a spa retreat?
The promise of total relaxation, pampering, good food and an opportunity to shut off the outside world is my idea of heaven. And sometimes, you don’t even need to go far from home to feel like you’re miles away from your day to day life. So look no further for reasons.
This award-winning spa in Kent is an ideal getaway with their Roman-inspired spa interior, luxury rooms (all named after flowers) and it is situated in the countryside, a perfect opportunity for fresh air and a long walk. It is also unavailable to those under 18 years of age. I am child agnostic but it is nice to have absolute tranquillity. Sorry parents!
Of course, upon arrival, the most important thing is to dump the bags and crack open the bubbles to begin the relaxation process!
The rooms are spacious, you’re given L’Occitane products to indulge in and the views from the bedroom are far from the city lights of London.
A spa retreat is a great opportunity to spend time with loved ones, whether it be with your other half, your mum, your siblings or your friends. There are many benefits from detoxing to losing weight and unwinding. There were many couples and soon to be mums basking in the spa glory. My favourite reasons for a spa vacay are:
We have such busy lives and with external commitments, our focus is on everything and anyone but ourselves. Reconnecting with ourselves and being mindful gives us a chance to celebrate who we are, what we have to offer and how we are doing with the goals we are striving to achieve.
The quote spoken by Kelly McGillis in the movie Top Gun springs to mind here, “You’re not going to be happy unless you’re going Mach 2 with your hair on fire.” Our occupied minds, the hustle and bustle of everyday life and errands coming out of our ears, can only last for so long before it starts to take its toll. Taking the time to enjoy a massage and breathe in the beautiful relaxing oils can help us become more mindful and allow our bodies to give in and recharge. I fell asleep in my massage so it worked for me!
A good massage can help improve circulation, reduce blood pressure and even alleviate pain. I spend 70% of my time with immense shoulder pain likely to poor posture and stress but regular massages help keep this in check. And if you aren’t a massage person, just spending time in the jacuzzi or hitting the gym without any time pressures can immensely relieve you of day to day craziness.
“The way you treat yourself sets the standard for others”
I thoroughly enjoy using spa facilities. Being able to relax in a different environment where there is a common goal of achieving inner peace. What a wonderful way to switch off from the outside world. The spa here has 19 single treatment rooms, an extensive treatment menu, two floors of pools, a jacuzzi and gym. The only downside is that the recliners next to the pool are not too comfortable and don’t allow you to fully lie down for that much-needed snooze.
Ok so foodies beware, this is your idea of heaven, foodgasm material coming right up. Their RG Restaurant is two AA Rosette Awarded, offering beautiful dishes using local produce.
A good spa is a perfect mix of relaxation, superb food and a vast selection of treatments. What better way to reconnect with yourself and feel rebalanced ready to tackle the world.
Have I convinced you to book your next spa retreat? Thank you to all at Rowhill Grange Hotel and Utopia Spa for looking after us. I will be back!
