Amidst the city suits, stilettos and bankers resides a relaxed yet opulent sumptuous food haven.
On the corner of Bloomberg Arcade proudly lives Brigadiers. It blends the element of social gathering well by offering foodies their ultimate dishes of spice and combining it with pool, sports and card games. The decor is most definitely geared up towards the male population but don’t let that put you off the lavish design and deluxe dishes.
Prepare to leave Brigadiers with a smoky odour of barbecued goodness but who cares about that after a long day in the office?
Diners have a tough choice deciding what to order from the vast menu. From beer snacks to chicken wings, guinea fowl patties to kebabs and biryani. They have you covered. The desert offers a range of Kulfi to cleanse the palate.
For me, it is the leading venue for mixed popadoms, coming in various shapes and sizes and then followed by the Paneer Shashlik’s arrival, a meaty block of intense melt in the mouth flavour. You can’t beat it.
I recommend the Guinea Fowl Patties, they are rich with a deep and powerful flavour, pair this with a good glug of red wine and you’ll be in foodgasm territory in no time.
The mixed grill sizzler is a sublime sharing dish, the inviting, spicy, charcoaled plate almost dances to your taste buds and coupled with a garlic naan you’re in harmonious nirvana.
Four to five dishes are more than sufficient for two people and with prices ranging from £6 for bar snacks to £20 for a main dish it is pretty standard for city prices. You’ll be hard pushed to limit the table to just four dishes but settle in for the ride as once you are seated in the plush mahogany and gold decor, you won’t be ready to leave any time soon.
You can make a reservation here for Brigadiers, 1-5 Bloomberg Arcade, London EC4N 8AR.
