How I Feel About February

It’s been a strange old month.

With a week to go until March arrives, I’ve decided that February has been an odd, ‘in-limbo’ kind of month.

After the longest 31 days ever, yes January I am talking about you, the following 28 days are usually much easier. Dry January, New Year Resolution planning, diets and the much-awaited payday have all been and gone. Time to crack on.

Yet it feels as though I have still been finding my feet. Still procrastinating upon goal prioritisation and adding things to the 2019 bucket list without actually executing. Maybe I am giving myself more time with a more relaxed approach? I tend to possess a gung-ho style once I have made a decision, I take action and revel in the accomplishments. But this month I have enjoyed feeling inspired and inspirited.

It has taken me a while to accept that feeling this way is actually ok. One of my colleagues recently told me to stop putting pressure on myself. I realised at this point that maybe the reason I felt this odd feeling was that I expected great things of myself in a short space of time, maybe too great, when in actual fact what I am already doing is absolutely fine.

It’s been a month of building, discovering and laughing. As I write I am still belly laughing at some of the conversations I’ve rejoiced in today. I have been content creating, reading, absorbing new material like a sponge and adding to both my photography portfolio and shoe collection. Well, nothing new on the last point but to quote Marilyn Monroe…

Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world

One thing February has given me is hope. I have goals, inspiration, creativity and laughter in abundance. A new season is literally around the corner. Not only does that mean a new wardrobe but the evenings become lighter, flowers are also are in bloom and February plans are ready to spring into action.

What’s not to love about that?!

How do you feel about February? Have you felt the same?
Don’t leave me hanging, I would love to hear your thoughts!
