Identifying yourself as a foodie can be one tough gig.
London has an array of mouth-watering holes to satisfy any foodie’s taste buds and Insta-worthy fix. But therein lies the problem, where to go? And is it better to head to the latest new venue or refer to the trusted list – something which most foodies have built over time?
I’m either about to make your life better or worse with the suggestion of another location. It will either help resolve a discussion of where to dine this week or add yet another place to that ever-growing list.
Think French and Mediterranean influences, Parisian class combined with stylish decor and you’re set slap bang in the middle of Folie.
From the get-go you are welcomed by attentive staff, oozing you into a relaxed environment in plush velvet chairs, gold-adorned furniture and inviting you into a charming menu.
The dishes are sophisticated and bold with heartwarming flavours, just the ticket when the rain is pouring down with gusto.
The seared red mullet with its bouillabaisse sauce and Loch Duart salmon accompanied by cauliflower, almond and raisin are absolute winners on this lunchtime menu. There’s nothing worse than a stodgy dish leaving you needing to be rolled out of the restaurant with less glamour than you would have liked. The food is airy and light with each mouthful being proudly delightfully tasty. Each delicately placed item on the dish has a burst of flavour that satisfies anyone’s tastebuds.
I recommend both Autumn vegetables and green salad as sharing sides, there is more than enough for two and you won’t be disappointed.
Washing all of this down with a beautiful crisp vino would have finished this off nicely however the gym was calling, so maybe next time! But this is most definitely a venue for a repeat performance, without the gym afterwards!
You can find Folie here.
